| Tennis: |
Ray Benton was elected to the Board of Directors of the USIC in 2004. He serves on the committee for the Gene Scott Memorial Scholarship and participates in the Amigos Cup and inter-city matches. Ray's career has included virtually every facet of tennis. He started as an instructor in the public parks and became a club teaching professional. Ray coached varsity collegiate tennis and was involved with a number of grass roots initiatives before becoming the first National Executive Director of the National Junior Tennis League where he led the organization's growth from three to fifty chapters. Ray was a founder and President of ProServ, Inc., and directed its marketing and event activities, making it one of the two largest sports marketing companies in the world. In 1993, Ray and partner Jimmy Connors co-founded the Champions Tour, a senior tour for men's professional tennis. In 2009, Ray became the CEO of the Tennis Center at College Park, home to the Junior Tennis Champions Center. |
