Lauren Davis Upsets Former No. 1

Gene Scott Scholar, Lauren Davis upset the No. 4-ranked and former world No. 1, Victoria Azarenka 6-0, 7-6(2) in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open on Friday, March 7 in Indian Wells, CA. The outstanding victory by the 20-year-old was her first top 10 win. Davis, who is ranked No. 66, will meet Varvara Lepchenko, ranked No. 51 in the third round of the tournament in what should be a close contest on Sunday, March 9 at 2 pm EST.
