The Germany's IC Nations Trophy 2010 was held in Frankfurt, Germany and there were 7 nations who took part in this tournament.
The first day of the tournament was a good start for the American team as they won some matches and some players won experience on the dirt.
The second day was a bit unexpected for the team as the Spanish created carnage among the Americans. The American team was not able to score a single point and lost all matches in straight sets. The American team blamed the sumptuous and tempting German food and the extraordinary hospitality for the distraction.
The final day definitely showed the host nation at their best with their several recent top 100 ATP players taking part. Among all the seven nations, Germany was the clear winner-- not only from a total points. perspective but also in terms of hospitality as well as excellent logistics supports for the visiting teams. Alex Kurucz, German IC President and Tournament Director, also expressed his appreciation to the American team by extending honorary German IC Club membership to our team captain which is a great honor. .
All the participants and organizers in the background did a great job in making this event such a success. All players are convinced that we need to continue to spread the word about the spirit of the IC. Over time this should also help to attract even more promising junior, middle aged and true veterans into these competitions.
